Lilies

Second only to roses in their mystique, lilies have been cultivated for centuries in almost every part of the globe. From China and Japan across the Asian continent to the Middle East and southern Europe, all the way to North America, the genus Lilium contains over 100 separate natural species.
Lilies are delicate and attractive flowers that are usually used in most flower arrangements. These are rhizomatous plants that do not actually belong to the lily family. The plant derives its name from the Greek word calla, which means beautiful. And suited for its name, calla lilies are appreciated for its exquisite beauty in almost any type of flower arrangement. The world recognizes its loveliness that is why the plant is cultivated on every suitable place for its growth.
